Greetings from Arvid
25 December Christmas day
On Christmas eve we put sand and a candle in a paper-bag. Then we set out the paper-bags on the street. Lighted the candles so Santa Claus can land with his reindeers in the night. The children set out carrots to the reindeers and beer to Santa Claus.
In the morning on Christmas day the Santa Claus knock on the door and leave a bag with Christmas presents. The children in Australia never see Santa.
Many people in Australia celebrate Christmas day with friends. They have a barbecue and eat seafood. We celebrated with our friends. We ate stuffed turkey, potatoes and cranberry jam. For desert we had strawberry cake, jelly and fruitcake. In the dinner we had hats made of old Christmas cards.
After the dinner we played cricket and it was fun.
